Domink Pryor Jamar Bey?considering our negligible pass rush and abysmal performance against the run outside from our DEs is any one else a little surprised that especially Pryor but also Bey haven't played significant minutes. Bennett is quoted as saying that "both have incredible physical tools and could be dominant players by the time they're done here". Well this is Bey's third year and Pryor's second year and the only dominating they must be doing is against the scout team. What's the difference between a potentially dominating prospect and a sleeper?
Not really sure that it means all that much to dominate our scout team. What is also dissapointing was hearing from Bennett all of last year about how Munlin and Massey were tearing up our #1 & #2 defenses while they were on the scout team. So far neither has lived up to all of the hype that was put on them.
Both guys played DE last year, and if they still were DEs, they might (??) be getting some minutes. Dominic Pryor now is playing DT, learning the new position, and supposedly for all his potential, he's still learning. He can get those long arms up there, and he's stronger than you'd think, but he's still pretty lean to play inside, and he needs much better footwork. But I hear they like his future inside.
Jamar Bey has moved from DE to LB. Given our shortages there, I'm surprised he hasn't gotten any playing time. He might be making a slow adjustment (although he did play LB in high school), but he's tall and fast. Maybe he does deserve some playing time.
