I think the rumors are true, as for the reason I heard, it relates to some personal issues that he needs to deal with, not with the SMU, the team or coaches. It is a case that we need to keep him in our prayers and offer support to him where we can give it. It is not an issue that needs to be discussed and made public and just leave it at that.

Easy there, JT. It was just an opinion on my part...something that a LOT of other folks on this board have expressed quite often on many other subjects. Guess it rubbed off on me. My apologies.

I would like to add to what 'buspen' has said up above. I had lunch today with a highly connected staff member of the SMU football team. He would not go into specifics on Chris' situation because it involves a 'personal matter', which I respect.

Bottom line: as 'buspen' has stated, we all need to keep Chris Urbanus in our thoughts and prayers and hope for the best for him.

Buspen is right about Chris. Let's just leave it alone for now, and with a little luck, he could be back for the fall season.

I'm with ya, buspen.

Here's hoping that all turns out well for the big guy...

confirmed in the paper today that he will be out for personal reasons during the spring but that he is expected back for the fall.
The donkey's name is Kiki.

On a side note, anybody need a patent attorney?

Fudge.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I find it interesting that the original poster of this topic is "Pony-Up" (caps with a hyphen and a 'newbie' with only 3 posts) and there is another poster named 'Pony Up' (caps and no hyphen and who has over 300 posts and is from Waco). Frankly, I think 'Pony-Up' just started this thread to get everyone stirred up and that there's not truth to it.

Sorry 65, even Stallion must have had a third post. I've watched SMU football for only the past two years and just learned about PonyFans.com at the UTEP game this year. As for the similarity in names, Pony Up vs. Pony-Up, no infringement intended. There are a bunch of you guys and I kept with the SMU/Mustang theme. I did hear, reliably in my opinion, from one of the players, that Chris was leaving. Since I considered this a potential serious blow for the team, I posted the question. Isn't this the intent of your site?

Just for clarity...perhaps it is just semantics, but the report in the paper said he would "miss" spring ball, but was expected to be ready for fall practice. Nothing was said that indicated he was "leaving".
