What a crushing blow for Chris and the rest of us too. As bad as his injury was, I'm just thankful it wasn't more serious. This is something he can come back from. I'm also thankful that he will be with us one more year....that means you will be too! My best wishes to your family and hope for a quick recovery for Chris!!! You, Chris and your family are all in our thoughts and prayers.

SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

We are so sorry to hear about Chris - tough break, we really needed his explosiveness and his good hands.

Our prayers will be with him and we wish him a speedy recovery. At least he can use his red shirt and play next year!

Mrs. Punch and I were completely bummed to hear about Chris' injury. The only consolation is we'll all get to benefit from Comet's leadership and enthusiasm for another year. Also, I can't help but think that if he's able to come back strong for his 5th year, Chris will have the statistical senior year he deserves with 2 years' experience with the new offense and more experience at the QB position.

Thank you all such much for your words of support and encouragement. Chris had his surgery yesterday and all went well. Pray for a speedy recovery and the strength he needs for the next 3-6 months.

If I know Chris, and I do (a little bit), he'll dive into rehab with the same energy and enthusiasm he has when he leads the team out on to the field before each game. Joyous, all PonyFans are glad to hear his surgery went so well, and we look forward to seeing him on the sidelines and at practice, and tearing it up at spring practice next year. Best of luck.
