Comcast/Cable/CSTV

Postby Stallion » Wed Apr 20, 2005 3:14 pm

after reading the CUSA Prospectus I have a question I'm sure others have. What Cable Networks will CSTV be on and what packages will be required. I've got Comcast and I've seen that they are an affiliate of CSTV but I'm unclear what changes to my present package I will need to make. BTW one story in the Prospectus has the games to be televised so far. There are 13 games on ESPN already chosen and 8 games on CSTV so far. The only SMU game so far is SMU/TCU in Dallas. NOTE: to those wanting to schedule patsies every year. Every pre-conference game picked up so far (except SMU/TCU) involves a CUSA home team vs. a BCS visiting team. Of course, the home team conference owns the viwing rights. Even if most SMU games are relegated to the internet which I suspect-it will be interesting to follow the new members of CUSA on these networks.

That being the case, where's the BU game?

I REALLY wish they'd televise road games.

CSTV has all digital tier deals. They'll tell you that they are partnered with affiliates serving 60MM HH... really they're in about 6MM HH and can only reach 16MM.

Call your local system and ask them for pricing on the tiers they offer... you probably can access a breakdown of the offerings on the web, although, systems often don't list the pricing because it is variable.

Good luck

At Ford Stadium. Be there, and get your seats early, or else a bunch of Baptists will take your place. "Sellout 2005" is underway. Put the Bears on the grass.

You miss the real issue, PS.

All of us will be at the game.

I want kids across the state/region/country to have a chance to see SMU on TV-- not internet/remote and/or obscure cable. CUSA should deliver their members a little more than HS coverage.

Correct, CSTV is only available if you have digital cable or satellite. Even then, you have to buy the extra "sports package" or whatever your carrier calls it. Generally $8-15 a month for the package on top of regular rates.
