Friday August 2 or Monday August 5. Or somewhere in between.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

They always report on Friday and commence practice on Monday first week of August.

They report and check-in to their hotel Friday, first workout and condition test is Sat the 3rd. It has been that way the last four years.
