It is odd to see some genuinely positive preseason press. Sure, we could have a blow out season but there seems to be more athletes with experience and depth than in the past. A harder schedule it the huge barrier but also a great challenge and opportunity.
Usually, we are worried about the vastly inexperienced line, or QB, or replacing an already thin secondary.
Now, we have some positives and some athletes that could make this season really interesting and fun.

Interesting. Nichols has us going 8-4, beating Tech, and going 6-2 in conference. I'd take that.

I think 8-4 including beating tech would be a huge step forward

I love that he has us at 8-3 going into the game against UCF at home. I would love to be at 8-3 at that point. That would also put us at 6-1 in AAC play with a legitimate chance at winning the conference and going to the Orange Bowl.

I think we have to run the conference undefeated to make the Orange Bowl.
We don't play Louisville this year and I think they have a more favorable schedule than us. Thus, they could be ranked higher than us and get the conference nod.

I don't see is getting the BCS bowl unless we go 8-0 in AAC and 2-2 in OOC.

If we go 8-4 after losing the seniors we lost, I'll go to any bowl, anywhere, regardless of the cost.

Sounds like you don't have faith in the recruiting and development of players by this staff. I guess you are getting the excuses ready in case we have a bad season.
