In fact, I'm amazed that Texas Football hasn't cut way way back on their coverage of schools like SMU, TCU, Rice and Houston. They have continued to do an outstanding job of covering those schools when most magazines treat us as an afterthought. What coverage does a program with the accomplishments of SMU and Rice over the years deserve?
Ummm...it's called TEXAS FOOTBALL MAGAZINE and it's supposed to cover ALL football programs in the state: professional, collegiate (at ALL levels!), high school (at ALL levels!) and even the private/parochial schools. So...you're telling us that coverage should be dictated upon what kind of a record the school has? That's ludicrous.

Texas Football omits Div. III Trinity, and my SMU prediction

Postby Sam I Am » Mon Jun 06, 2005 11:39 pm

Trinity University has been a perennial Div. III conferecne champion and playoff team, yet Texas Football does not list them. So much for covering all of Texas football. As for coverage of SMU, only winning will ever get us any attention. Our NC schedule could defeat our team before we ever get started in the C-USA. Despite having some player improvements, we may be in for another 3-8 season, or maybe 4-7. Come 2006 and the softer NC schedule and SMU will finally win more games than we lose.

It continually amazes me that so many people have a crystal ball. But seriously...your key words are *may be*.

Accept mediocrity? We've been striving for mediocrity. We can't get out of the p*ss poor category. You forgot in your optimisim that we have Coach Bennett back. The guy who went for 2 when leading by 11. This group will have to show someone something to get out of hte bottom 10

Don't know what you're looking for about Trinity, SAM, but there was coverage on Trinity, including quotes from their Head Coach in "Texas Football" (on Page 162).
