Rice looks prepared, their kids execute well, and they play well as a group. This is totally different than our group looked last night, or even the last few years. This is my primary complaint.
I understand if you get beat by team with more talented, better recruited players. I don't understand continually looking Mickey Mouse like we have no clue. End of 1st half was a joke, even pointed out by the tv announcers. My son is QB for his 8th grade team and even they have 3 plays they all know to run automatically when they run in their "hurry up"
Bigger problem is the perception that we are not prepared, don't really have plan, don't play excited or with emotion. Sure that's not all true but even tv guys said that's who we were last night, especially in 2nd half when they compared tech's sideline to ours. Recruits hear that stuff and regardless that is bad perception for the program.
Sad to say but doubt we play as well as Rice against A&M unless things improve, and if you watched Rutgers and Cincinnati today there is no way. Also, Memphis on road will not be walk over we all think.
What I also don't understand is why the real money men don't demand more in year 6. If we are going to lose, let's at least look good doing so, look like we know what we are doing or trying to do, and look like we have plan we are working on to get better.
