Good or bad, Gilbert is head and shoulders above any other qb we've had in the past 10 years.

So true and for the most part Gilbert is great and could even surpass it if he got the proper blocking and 4* + star worthy receiver that can actually get pass the defense.

Gilbert is not perfect but he has carried this team on his shoulders this year. It's a shame he does not have a better supporting cast around him. I may have not been his biggest fan in the past but He has guts and he has my respect.

No 84 Passing Efficiency
No. 108 Yards Per completion

It took about 3 quarters to realize just how bad Rutgers secondary was

That's what sideways passing and inside screens get you. I wish GG would audible out of those plays and throw DOWN the field.

I think we need to be more vertical, but it is the sideline and swing throws that open up the middle for the vertical passes.

How many 3 and outs does it take before we have opened up the middle enough to go vertical? We have thrown those behind the line of scrimmage passes over and over and over again with the same ugly results...loss of yardage...no gain...or 1 yard gain. I think this activity is better known as the definition of insanity. 8)

Believe me I understand. I am just stating theory not fact. But I will say that if you watch some successful teams with better athletes, they can run those play well many times.

Yep, Texas Tech ran it on us with their hurry up offense...over and over again very successfully, but then our DBs were 10 yds off the line over and over again.

Kind of like if a rancher had decided to compete with the real pony express back in that era but all he had was cows. He could perform the task but not with the desired results.
