Scenarios in which ponies fire June; who'll SMU hire?

Postby smustangs92 » Sat Oct 26, 2013 9:11 am

1. 6-6 w/ bowl loss
2. Obviously 5-7 or less
3. If SMU would have lost to Montana state
4. 6-6
5. Loss to temple today

Who would smu hire??????

As JasonB pointed out 6-6 would be disappointing. And since June has already sold his house in Plano there is probably something already in the works to replace him as he retires or resigns from SMU. But Hawaii could hire him back if they fire their coach this year.

Problem is Hawaii still owes 3 more years on Norm Chow's contract. . . Not sure if they have the money to buy out, unless a rich donor steps up and buys the last 3 years out.

maybe one of jj's rich island friends will help buy out Chow's contract so jj can return to where he really wants to be.

We're going the retread route, someone "proven" but that we also won't have to fight anyone to get. Expect to see names like Rick Neuheisel, Tom O'Brien, Jeff Tedford, Ron Zook, Gene Chizik linked to the search.

let's hope not. We really need a staff that can recruit and exhibit a high level of energy, a staff without a lot of baggage. If we can't get a 'LB' wow type of hire then go with proven youth such as a good OC etc.
