Hal Mumme questionIf June knew he was leaving at the end of the year (with the sale of his house and all that), why bring in Mumme? What's his long term plan? If jones is fired, does that extend to Mumme and the rest of the staff? Any thoughts?
Re: Hal Mumme questionMy gut call is that it is intellectually exciting for June to expand his R'n S offense by adding Mumme. Either that or they wanted a HC in waiting.

My thought all along was that Mumme was brought in to make a smooth transition to head coach. Hal left a head coaching job at Midwestern State and I figure the fix is in for JJ to pass the baton off to him after this season.
Re: Hal Mumme questionOnly at SMU would anyone hire a 60 year HCIW that failed twice in FBS and left a school on probation.

Re: Hal Mumme questionMaybe he didn't want to hire anyone for just a year but Mumme who was considered an outcast would jump at one last chance at Division 1A
