heisman candidate for a potential bcs championship team? I have a feeling this investigation might not turn up much.

Winston is 6'4" the person alleged to have done this is reported by the victim to be between 5'9 and 5'11",

right-that is probably enough in most cases to create reasonable doubt.

The investigation has been going on for almost 3/4 of a year now (Feb?).
It has the bad odor of a smear campaign.

Who would want to smear Winston? How about every team vying for a spot in the BCS title game? How about every team with a Heisman candidate? Don't be naive. FSU is championship-bound unless something happens to "Famous Jameis." Luckily, these charges appear to lack any substantial evidence.

During the Baylor/Tech game, they put up the pics of the 5 QBs they thought were in the running for the Heisman along with their stats. When they talked about FSU winning big today, they tacked on a comment like "even with Winston dealing with distractions". I'm not saying the guy did it, and you guys are completely on point with the reasonable doubt noted above.

However, a sexual assault charge being referred to as a "distraction" is completely tactless. That's pretty freakin' serious, and for any sportscaster to downplay that kind of a charge is idiotic. They really need to get their priorities in order.

Now as I step down off my soapbox, I hope the kid didn't do it, I hope he's cleared, and I hope they either find the real assailant or determine that the charge was completely bogus.
