Re: OT: Extremely classy moveI will give him classy move, but is it not a violation for coaches to contact players of other teams?

Re: OT: Extremely classy move
Not if you are a BCS coach. Actually I would think it would only be a problem if the contact was for recruiting purposes, but then what do I know? SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
Re: OT: Extremely classy movethey usually go through SID office-its not totally uncommon.

When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: OT: Extremely classy move
Recruiting is exactly what I was thinking about. Bret Beliema wanted to leave Wisconsin but could not do anything overtly and blatant without getting into trouble with his school. So he wrote a nice hand written note to Jeff Long at Arkansas about how impressed he was of how he handled the Petrino deal. No mention of wanting a job but certainly got his name in front of Long while knowing Long would be looking for a coach in the future. I hate to be cynical but the thought just flashed before me.
