I am beginning to wonder about JJ's alleged departure. People who I trust (and are in positions to know) have said an agreement has been reached (that was weeks' ago). There has been no smoke. Nothing in DMN, Internet, etc. Seems to me if he was leaving on good terms, an announcement would be made so people could express their appreciation at the game and recruiting would not be hampered.
Discuss.

very concerned that there has been no leakage of info regarding his leaving. If he is here next year I'm finished with this admin. I simply want more than mediocre and that seems that is what they seem to be happy with. thank god for bball, at least this university will not be a total embarrassment.

I honestly believe that the powers that be (Turner et al) think he's doing a great job (they have low standards for athletics in general) given that "he got us to 4 straight bowls (won 3!) and helped get us into a better conference (and we knew this year was going to be tough, probably next year, too, but then we will get an easier schedule and it will get better)".
I honestly think that's what they think. Plus "look at how good we are doing in bball now!"
A very low bar. Never expect us to REALLY compete again with Texas, Baylor, aTm, etc.

I think he is going to stay.
If you remember when we hired him, nobody had any clue until the deal was done. Besides immediate family members who would really know from the SMU side-The CoC, RGT and Hart. So if he does go that lack of chatter 6 days before the last game doesn't surprise me.

Point 1 doesn't really jibe with Point 2. If admin is watching right in front of their eyes how to recruit, win, and build a program with Larry at SMU under current policies, why would they also think June is doing a great job when he's not recruiting, backsliding, and watching his foundation crumble at the exact same time?

It doesn't add up. SOMETHiNG is going on. It's driving me batty. Did JJ agree to get rid of the gelding(s) so he could work another year?

Something will come out shortly after the UCF game. I think we're stuck with June for another year, it seems like SOMETHING would've leaked if that weren't the case.
I think JJ is a legit good guy, is pals with the influential members of the CoC, and they don't want to get rid of him in an ugly fashion. It is what it is. We do what we do.

My guess is they will announce a year or possibly 2 extension for the 2015, and possibly 2016 seasons sometime soon.
May the forth be with us.

2 year extension with no buyout after next season. So in effect, JJ stays on one more year and no bad blood.
Our admin simply does NOT get it. One lame duck year with JJ cannot happen or we will set ur program back by 3-4 years at least. That extension would be a paper tiger - everyone would know that he is done after the year, so why even bother??

I can't even see any financial reason to extend June considering what they'll lose in season ticket sales, MC donations, concessions, etc.
They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security
