Is that really a smart question? Please explain your confusion.

If you are talking about SMU pr and when a decision is announced by the school, I'm not sure what the school considers "bad news" for the public. I doubt him signing an extension would be seen as bad news by the party that offered it.

Clearly bad news for everyone else...

sorry - I should have been more clear. I think the school knows that this news will not be received well by fans - therefore, it is bad news (even if Hart and CofC think it's gggggreat!).

Bad news always goes out on Friday.

He did NOT recruit LB he only encouraged him to hang in there after first LB interviewed for the job. Before that I believe LB said the last time he and June crossed paths was 30 or 40 years ago in passing.

FWIW, prior to the basketball game Larry Brown was quoted as saying that he wouldn't be at SMU if it weren't for June Jones. Not sure what new project ThadFilms is up to, but he has the quote on film.

Right, he may have decided to move on while the search was going on but Jones was there to encourage him. In several other articles written by major media outlets he described the process and it was as I stated. Jones did not contact LB and ask him to interview for the job.
