Parker Collins' coach pretty well confirmed what most everyone was thinking - not enough contacts being made. Coach Jones please find a young aggressive coach that can sell SMU to kids. I believe such a change would make a huge difference in your effectiveness. And coach Jones, we are all ready to move forward to the next level too. I for one think you have all of the right tools to lead us if you will aggressively recruit. See what you can do..please.

You are wasting your time. He's had 6 years. What is going to be different this year?

Big Horse--you and your buddies were the same group that bought into Copeland's BS! "Let's fire that no good Tom Rossley" .

You know that no football coach at SMU has had the support of the administration at SMU for over 26 years. Firing another football coach won't get the job done; will not get the facilities built; will not get the academic support; the provost to give us the general studies major; the classroom support, the academic friendly majors initiated; will not get the admissions corrected. You should be ashamed of your post!

Since you keep believing in Turner and then hang your stockings up tonight and see if Santa really comes.

Blame June for a lot of things, but do not blame him for trying to leave this train wreck for the broken promises made by this administration. Turner has put two football programs under the bus. He had the first ten years of his administration just to put athletic admissions on par with the Knight Commission's admissions recommendations, the very committee he headed--how's that for complete lack of integrity? I don't care that June was able to move the ball forward in admissions, why did Turner sit on the very recommendations he was making to every other program in the country for ten years? Why?

He had lied to you, he lied to me and certainly mislead the board. He is one of the most duplicitous people I have ever met. And, he reigns unchecked because of people like you and your crowd. Once again, the cries of "let's fire the coach" come from your group. Turner has you right where he wants you--it is always someone else's fault, he just the president after all and after seventeen years certainly not his.

You and I both are well aware that over 1/3 of the major high school programs in this state won't even permit their kids to even come here because they don't believe SMU will take care of them. You want to recruit like A&M? Well let's have the academic atmosphere and courses and tutors (we raised the money but still haven't had the time to hire them!) and facilities to match! Go over to TCU and see the facilities Patterson has to work with. The problem starts at the top, until you cut off the head, you will never kill that snake that is killing football.

If Johnny Football had come to SMU, he would have never played this year. Gerald Turner would have never, ever stood up for one his football players as did the Chancellor of A&M. Hell, Turner allowed his system put two of our players on the bench against Tech for those major crimes of: "not timely declaring a major and an unpaid traffic ticket" and not allowing the boys to play when both were corrected on game day because Friday was a university holiday preceding the Labor Day Monday.

Better start thinking again before you blow your mouth off again. I am truly disappointed!

Complete hyperbole-facts are completely missing. He just doesn't like Turner and he is going to let us know about it every few weeks without any fair, balanced analysis of the facts or a shread of evidence to support his argument. He's locked in a mid 1990s world

I'm convinced the only thing that could have created such a blind hatred is fallout from a very bitter affair. Maybe Turner dumped him via voicemail.

Stallion, you know full well that our admissions were not corrected for the first ten years of Turner's term. If you are unaware of TCU's facilities go over an see them. The simple proof is easily demonstrated in the quality of our AD hire. The proof is that we don't have the facilities, academic support and majors that every other major program has. Are you saying it is there? Show me!

If you suggest that I am supporting June you have missed the point. The situation at SMU will eat up any coach. Until things change no hire (if we can find one) will be successful. How many "misses" do you want to give Turner? After this many years, you would think we would have hit on at least one. Oh but then you are still mad we didn't hire that high school coach that failed at NTU and is back coaching in high school.

You might get some support if you would stop bringing up admissions. Do us a favor and try to find out which freshmen mentioned in the Provost Report scored a 620 SAT, a 740 SAT and who were the other 5 freshman who scored below the old NCAA floor. You think they were Math majors? Perhaps Bill Clements grandson? I have a pretty good idea those 7 were among the 15 minority FB and BB freshman admitted to SMU in 2013. But I'd love to know that as a fact. Some kids are getting into SMU with extremely low SATs and if those freshman were athletes then the argument is over

But here's the real kicker that might actually get some to think-probably none of these kids assumimg they were in fact athletes will be admissible in 2016 under NCAA rules and if they are somehow admitted they will be mandatory academic redshirts. Poof goes the argument
