As members in good standing in the American, it seems misplaced for us to criticize the Big Ten. Also,MSU beat a good team in the Rose Bowl, while Nebraska did well.

This is a huge factor.

I enjoyed going to the Wisconsin-Minnesota game this year: Great experience, UMs new stadium, two 8-2 teams, packed house, it was great. But it was also exactly 0 degrees out and I thought to myself if I was a coach from a warmer state looking for recruits I would PRAY they were standing on the sideline then. Heck, I've been in FL in December where it was 80 degrees out.

Also: in a gym up here I saw a 15 year old kid who was 6-0 215lbs, who everyone was fawning over his athletic ability, and he was busy hitting a punching bag. I thought to myself, without even thinking, "Why on earth is he hitting a punching bag and not a sled?" Football rules absolutely down south were it doesn't up north.

These factors give warmer states an advantage.
