Let's all extend our prayers to our conference mates at Tulane U. with Hurricane Katrina headed their way.

The Green Wave is KatrinaPoot Tulane. Katrina is the real Green Wave. New Orleans needs a miracle. May the good Lord grant them relief from the storm.

As many of ya'll know, Mrs. RGV Pony is a N.O. native & I have a stepdaughter at LSU. Just as importantly, there are a handful of Ponyfans.com'ers in the area...BRStang and Big Easy Pony to name a couple. Let's hope they're alright. Pony up, Crescent City.
It's a tragedy-- the students of Tulane may very well lose the entire semester.
If we have any open dorms, we should make special accomodations so that some of these kids can move in & take basic classes for their Fall of '05. SMU should help the students of Tulane where they can. YOU WANT THE TRUTH? YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!
Re: spell checkOne way to deal with that is to type your response in Word and then copy it over to PF.com. A little extra effort, yes, but at least you will look like you're educated.
good idea PK. Spell check is still neededIt will be tedious, but I will try to remember to use Word to type my responses for this board as I have done for this response. Nevertheless, other boards have spell check for the convenience of its users. SMU is supposed to have class, so let’s add a spell check here.

Hey, poot Tulane works for me.
Several years ago after the storms hit the east coast, William and Mary was closed for a month due to the damage of that storm. (100 year old trees were snapped like toothpicks). Hopefully Tulane will dig out quickly. Of course the real risk in New Orleans in addition to 100+ mph winds is flooding. The City is 7 feet below sea level. Levees are 12 feet high. Storm surge was expected to be something like 20 feet. I agree, SMU ought to let Tulane know that we are willing to help anyway our community can.
Tulane's alternate campusTulane has an alternate campus where they evacuated their freshman. Their school president gave a good account of their preparations on a news interview today.

Now that the Stuperdome has a huge hole in it, Tulane may have some trouble with home games. At least when they come to Ford, they will be in a nice modern facility (assuming we don't burn the stadium down like we tried to do a couple of years back at a home opener).
I have a sister that lives in NO. They evacuated but are very concerned about having a home when this is over. One can only offer prays that the residents of NO are spared and that the damage is at a minimum. PS Spelling checked by word.
