As you can see in 2003 and 2004 SMU played two of first three games AWAY.

All I am saying is this is best when possible, but of course we will survive either way.

I will be at the SMU games if it's 118 degrees......but I just prefer 85...sorry if that is so odd.

Yes, and if you were paying attention, other people complained about that, including the head coach who, I believe, said scheduling three of your first five or four of your first six games for the road was stupid.

Yes, and if you were paying attention, other people complained about that, including the head coach who, I believe, said scheduling three of your first five or four of your first six games for the road was stupid.

In the end, SMU has to use rent-a-fans to have decent attendance anyways. It's time that SMU doesn't worry so much about the blue-hair crowd as much as how to try and win back the alumni that have graduated in the last 15 years that don't come to games.

IPP, yes you are odd. The average margin of loss at home in September against non-conference teams was 22 points during that period. On the road it was 37 points. Which means that in most of the home games (except OSU and Navy) the team left the field with a little bit of dignity and hope for the following week. "If we just did..." Losing by 37 to start every season would be even more destructive. So even on a hot sweltering field you're better off at home than on the road. Those really bad home losses to Navy and OSU were evening games. Maybe we ought to play all daylight games.

Yeah it's really odd to prefer 85 degrees over near 100.

I am sure all those people drenched in sweat fanning themselves saturday night if given the choice would pick near 100 over 85!

This isn't about the players.

Thats a different subject.

But to your question...."How do they do it?".....Well....they suffer through it.

I am not arguing we cant "suffer through it", like i said we will survive, but why suffer if there are better options?

Coaches come up with all kinds of excuces for losses.

But using that logic we should do alot better the way we are doing it this year?.....Ummm we'll see wont we?

And if we dont, then it's a "wash" and again if it doesnt make any difference why suffer in the heat when we could let others suffer?
