STFU--I am one of the older alums. Tired of hearing your apologies for JJ. It makes sense to me.
Re: Leigh Steinberg to Speak at SMU today
Was JJ lying when he said the job was never offered or was Steinberg? Cause one of them is a liar. An atheist is a guy who watches a Notre Dame-SMU football game and
doesn't care who wins. -- Dwight D. Eisenhower

Re: Leigh Steinberg to Speak at SMU todayi have forgiven Steinberg for being an alcoholic - i haven't forgiven him for being an idiot.
JJ received everything he asked for and more. His schtick is the same wherever he goes - the "i didn't get what i was promised" thing usually gets him more money or toys, and is a built in excuse. Its just a shake down. We are all ready to move on after next year. It is time.
Re: Agent Leigh Steinberg to speak, sign books at SMUI forgive him for being an alcoholic-but I don't forgive him for failing to close June's deal with Arizona St. so we could of rid ourselves of June's lazy, excuse making [deleted] 2 years ago. June has not changed from Day 1-some of his assistants have changed which has affected recruiting performance. He did not have a realistic recruiting plan in place to recruit in Texas from Day 1. I have less problems with his coaching ability than just about any of his critics--that just gets you so far. If he had placed the proper emphasis, energy and commitment to recruiting in Texas and hired an agressive recruiting staff he could have been a huge success at SMU. Can't wait for June to leave which he will in November
"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: Leigh Steinberg to Speak at SMU today
I have made mistakes and will make mistakes. My problem with Steinberg is: 1) courts have repeatedly found that he was responsible for taking money from his client improperly. If you read Steinberg's quotes, he continues to blame others for the problem. Furthermore, he has essentially blamed the victim for failing to settle on Steinberg's terms, 2) if you read what happened prior to his bankruptcy, he clearly tried to avoid debts by questionable means. That was well after his allege "recovery" from substance abuse problems. http://espn.go.com/espn/commentary/stor ... alcoholism Bottom line: nothing in his recent comments suggests that he has made amends or even accepted responsibility for his problems. Do unto others before they do unto you!!
