TV Replayafter watching the replay over the last couple of days I got some comments. Eckert's new pledge class name is "Tip" I watched the entire game and I can't recall a single play in which Brandon Bonds was even a factor in the game. Bonds is the poster boy for showing that big doesn't always mean good. He's got a long way to go to be even mediocre. Wouldn't be surprised if we see a change there. Hayward on the other hand is a step in the right direction-not dominating but competent-we need about 5 like him or better to reach average. He was a factor in at least 10-12 plays. Sturdivant is competent in the run defense-I'll reserve judgment until he faces a deep passing team. Rogers was strong until about the 4th Q -battled injury but was no factor in the 4th. D.D. Lee was also excellent in the first half made few big plays in the second half. Wilton McCray is playing out of position-he should be utilized on passing situations until he gets bigger. Humphrey played well and I think Brandon Jones shows some potential. SMU's offensive line needs improvement. Someone needs to send a ship for Columbus because he fell off the edge of the earth other than running two sweeps. What else did you guys notice after taking a closer look. Oh yeah this game confirmed what I've always said about Sepulvada the Baylor kicker-he will never play in the NFL because he consistently outkicks his coverage with low punts that should be returnable. Very little hangtime.
