You forgot SMU @ East Carolina in 2006.
Also, we can reasonably assume that since we play UAB, Marshall and ECU in 2005 and 2006, that in 2007 and 2008, SMU will be playing UCF, Memphis and Southern Mississippi. Still, it is understandable for leaving them off since the location is still to be determined.
I am a little surprised we don't have anything concrete for the 12th game in 2006.

Southland Junior Colleges? I thought Texas Tech was on there?
What we obtain too cheap.. we esteem too lightly. It is persistence alone that gives everything its value.

there have been reports on this board that SMU signed multi-year contracts to play first Texas St and then, also or maybe instead of, Sam Houston St.

Sam Houston State will give SMU a run for its money in 2006. And the information that SMU will play Sam Houston State came directly from Coach Phil himself. Sam Houston came within ONE GAME of playing for the Div. 1-AA national title in 2004.

Statistically, when the I-AA team does win, it doesn't seem to matter how bad the IA team is or how good the I-AA team is. The average is I-A beats I-AA 86% of the time, but that percentage is going up. Last year, I-AA teams managed 7 victories in 54 tries against I-A competition.

Sam Houston plays TWO Div. 1-A teams this season: Texas Tech and the University of Houston.
Southwest Texas State (now called Texas State University - San Marcos ) has delusions of grandeur of moving up to Div. 1-A status. That won't happen for a LONG time. Especially when you consider that they're currently on NCAA probation for recruiting violations last season.

Out of curiousity, what were the seven?

Maine, New Hampshire, Georgia Southern, McNeese State, Nichols State, Bethune Cookman, and Western Kentucky.
It should be pointed out that Georgia Southern, McNeese State and Western Kentucky all got their I-A win over Florida International, who was in its first year in I-A.

Ah, vaunted Nicholls State University out of Thibodeaux, LA, dear old Dad's alma mater. Which stellar D-1 foe did they beat?

William and Mary came very close to blackening the eye of UNC last year, but no cigar. There are 1-AA programs that I would avoid at all costs. William and Mary, Delaware (even though Tubby has retired and they no longer run the single wing), Georgia Southern, and current champion James Madison.
