Ryan KennedyThis may have already been discussed but where was he in this game? Isn't he supposed to be one of our best players, if not the best and an offensive weapon? Was he even thrown a ball? My guess is that the coaching staff got so flustered the first 10 seconds of the game that they don't know what in the heck to do. I'm no coach but how difficult would it be to get him a few ball on some quick throws and rollouts.
If your name is Kennedy and you're in Dallas...your days are numbered.
Here's hoping Ryan gets a better chance against the Froggies.
Amen to throwing the ball to Kennedy more!Yes, would like to see that big hunk running with the ball more!! Throw it to Kennedy; he'd plow over at least a couple of guys. Would also like to see more passing to Pellerin...he seems to always do something with the ball when he gets it...what few times they decide to throw to him. Nice vertical leap.
And I must say congrats to Sturdivant #29? Great job on the defense. He was the last man on what would have been a touchdown for Baylor between the 20 and 30. Another great job by Don Stansbury #30? Keep up the good work guys. All in all a 'respectable' score by our ponies, but some [deleted] poor coaching decisions by someone with a mushtache.
----------------- Good point(s).
I thought Burns was supposed to be some sort of wide open offensive genius at Cincy. What happened? Is it that our QB's can't execute, or line can't block, or our receivers can't get open? Hopefully TCU will take us lightly and play flat, otherwise Saturday could get really ugly.
The only points in the game we had time to throw the ball was on the first and last drive. first drive of the game, Eckert was too pumped up and overthrew everyone. Last drive, he completed everything after Baylor backed off of the blitz. We had a lot of protection problems.
I think one big difference between the first half and the second half was that if you remember, in the first half, we at least attempted to throw a couple of fly routes. Didn't complete them, but it kept their safties honest for the most part. In the second half, we tried to run "real" routes on the blitz and got killed for it. That is where staying in 4 and 5 WR sets hurt us - there weren't any tightends or running backs to stay in and block to give us time on the blitz. We probably would have been better off just chucking the ball deep again in order to try and get some running room, and playing in a two tight end set in order to give additional protection.
He's got one here too, and his name starts with "P" and ends with "hillips"... ![]() Eric Dickerson in Pony Excess "I've love winning man, it's like better than losing." - Ebby Calvin "Nuke" LaLoosh
Bennett needs to create plays where Kennedy will be covered by a LB.
Sure he can run and maybe he has great hands.. but we have to get him the ball first. There's the problem.
Bobby Chase supposedly has the best hands on the team.. but that does us no good if the balls sail over his head or skip to his shins. This team needs to try and establish the run MUCH MUCH more than they did against Baylor. We had flashes in the middle.. but didn't stick with it. What we obtain too cheap.. we esteem too lightly. It is persistence alone that gives everything its value.
