That's all I'm going to say about it. I'm tired of reading why we'll lose and how bad we'll lose and how we could be inferior.
Enough of this.
Mark it down. Hold me to it. But I said the same thing about the UTEP game last year and look how that turned out.
I want to know who is with me on this.
We don't live in fear. We live with confidence. I have no reservations about saying this.
It's the doomsayers -- and you know who you are -- who get rustled or intimidated when someone believes in what they're saying and stands by it.
My alma mater is going to win.

I will be pleasantly surprised if SMU wins. Either way, I will be celebrating on bourbon street afterwards.

To me, it all depends on the coaching...I still live in fear that Bennet will go back in his shell and try and be conservative and play "not to lose" instead of "to win".
After two home games against a 2A opponent and a member of the weakest conference in 1A, this will be much tougher competition and will be on the road.
If we keep the playbook open...we win, if we go back to 2 yard passes...we lose.
Ball is in Bennet's court, how he coaches this game will tell me a lot about him, in my mind, at least, and whether or not he should be replaced at the end of the season.

Big 10 - That's a lot of positivity out of you, but I like it considering your predictive powers.
I can't call this one. Play like week two and we lose by 27. Play like week four and we win by 19.
Go Ponies!

I bet you're a Bush supporter, nevermind.... I hope SMU wins too, all I'm saying is don't set yourself up for dissapointment.
I used to get super worked up like you but I just couldn't take it any more so here's my philosophy: Support the team, don't expect wins and hope to get plesantly surprised.

I never get upset when we lose. I get upset when one of my daughters had a bad day at school.
Let's just see what happens.

And a sound philosophy it is.

I won't be surprised if we win, but I will be equally unsurpised if we lose. I have come accustomed to losing games that if prepared well we should win. I don't want to hear excuses about last year. That Tulane team sucked and we lost to them at home. There is no reason we should lose, but we always seem to find a way to destroy our momentum.
SMU vs. Tulane goes easily to SMU
SMU vs. a bunch of sappy people watching and rooting for poor rich Tulane who was almost destroyed by a hurricane along with a spirited crew of pumped up football players may go to Tulane
It's all about attitude. We have the talent advantage. Do we have the focus is the question.
Bury Tulane...everyone else does.

its funny everybody says this Tulane team sucks because they have gone what 3-11 all on the road. Phil Bennett is 3-22 Lifetime on the road. KUDOS to the DMN crack sports staff for that interesting tidbit. Never underestimate your opponent especially in this case in which Tulane has been up against impossible odds-this will be a decent football team we face this week.
