Suggestion for Seating - UAB Game

Postby lugus830 » Thu Oct 19, 2006 10:21 am

Just thought that I would suggest this and get everyone's thoughts. For the UAB game, if the stands on the east side of the stadium are not full (as I expect), why don't some of us switch seats and move over to the east side of the stadium. I know that I don't want to give up my season seats at all, but I think it would look better on TV since the cameras will primarily be facing that direction. Just curious what ya'll think.

I think everyone attending needs to write to Orsini and suggest this idea. I have no idea why this isnt an official plan yet.

They will probably make you buy another ticket for the proper seat.

Yes, I know I will cringe with each punt and deep pass play seeing that visitor's section empty. Let's do our part to get this idea heard (and hopefully implemented).

How about this. Someone invent cloning, and everyone make a copy of yourself. Bring them to the game with you, you'll be beside yourself with excitement.

Also, everyone bring a tape recorder with crowd noise on it. Play it on a continuous loop for the whole game.

How much would it be to rent the cardboard cutouts of people that they use in movies?

Call Steve Martin and Charles Grodin. They did that in The Lonely Guy. There was a shop in LA they went to for that purpose.

Scarecrows, oversized stuffed animals, or blow up dolls - bring them all.

That would be great to have them pan around the stadium and see Chewbacca, Frodo, Dirk Nowitzki, and Marilyn Monroe all sitting next to each other. Plus it's Halloween, so the announcers would probably just comment on the great costumes.

They also say "rhubarb" to create the effect of background talking.

The yellow jackets don't stop you from sitting on the visitors side as long as you go above the walkway. That is where the most people are needed anyway. Everyone move over and we can start at the 50 and fan out as needed. Good view over there, especially since it will be dark and there will be no Sun to contend with.

Some pretty good ideas. How bout a temporary camera perch (like the one in the north end zone) on the east side? They could set up and shoot the game from over there. You won't get that TCU-like outer space view, but it would still be good. Plus, the viewing audience can see our red-clad fans, the press box and adjoining amenities. Nobody has to move and we don't have to hire any people to sit on the east side.
