Hi all! I'm Jana Rentzel - the new Director of Alumni Relations at SMU - and I want you to know about the awesome tailgate party we're having at Rice Stadium on Saturday from 11:30am-2pm.
We’ve got a super spot in the grassy area on the east side of the stadium (just south of Gate 3). Parking is free in the nearby main lot on the east side. We’ll have a big tent, hot dogs from the famous James’ Coney Island, a few kegs, soda pop, and Mustang Spirit galore -- and it's FREE!!
Let's join forces, wear red, and show 'em what TRUE MUSTANG PRIDE looks like.
See ya there!

Great we can get our free beer form the SMU tent and then see what the Bus Stop is serving for lunch.

Excellent! Props to Alumni Relations for the pre-game festivities!
(note to self: must leave Dallas earlier than planned)

For anyone that travels this route regularly, what does it take, 4 hours? Was thinking of hitting the road around 7:00am Saturday to make the festivities. Is that enough time alotted to make it in the parking lot around 11:30am?

If you hit the road by 7, you will make it to the stadium easily by the 11:30am start unless there is some unforseen circumstance. The drive takes between 3.5 to 4 hrs on a typical weekend and I wouldn't expect a great deal of traffic early on Saturday morning of Thanksgiving weekend.

I will be in town to spend Thanksgiving with my folks and am pumped to be there for this important game. Anyone know if you need some sort of proof that you went to SMU for the tailgate?

Your original diploma and birth certificate will suffice. Although admission will be your first born.
