What are you people doing?

Look, far be it from me to tell you guys what to think or how to act, but you people are ridiculous! Half of you feel the need to bash North Texas (man, that NTSU routine is painful...no, seriously it is, I promise) and Todd Dodge by proxy. The other half swear that hiring Todd Dodge will somehow damage SMU. Let's be honest. SMU is an afterthought in DFW...as is North Texas, for now. I enjoy bashing SMU because you're on our level...just like Middle Tennessee State or Arkansas State. Don't tell me you're not because you had your chance to prove otherwise in Denton this season and got spanked.

My point is that you should be more concerned with the direction of your own program. You have a beautiful stadium that we would kill for. You're in the heart of Dallas. Willis will be a special player. North Texas fans and administrators realized long, long ago that our future will not be dictated by what SMU does. Same goes for you guys. Let's try to realize that the real enemy is a media biased toward UT, aTm or whomever else they can drop to their knees and blow.

There are more than just a few that talk trash about EVERYTHING. I do not even think they could go to a club, pick up the best looking girl there, get lucky, find out she was rich, and her ask him to get married ... without somehow trashing the situation.

SMU need to focus on supporting what SMU has, and the direction chosen by our leadership.

If you do not like that direction - GO TALK TO THE LEADERSHIP. I have. and over the last 5 years many of my points have been acted upon in a positive manner.

I hope Dodge does well, He will need a TON of support.

I hope that Phil Bennet does well and can see the future based upon the past. When PB took over this team ( sorry to any older players ) WE HAD NO LINE. Both Sides of the Ball were small and you did not have enough linemen to have a practice.

Anyway. I know people from UNT and by and large they are good people. Quite similar to the one I know at SMU. ( :wink:

I have gotten the Skippy and Muffy U comment too.

If that is true then tell me this: why do certain NTSU posters continue to come on here and perpetuate the myth that SMU has somehow held them back by blackballing them from certain conference affiliations?

look if North Texas had been on SMU's schedule for the last 6 years-North Texas would have won 3 probably 4 plus games. What level do you people think SMU is on. There aren't many teams we have beaten in the last 6 years.

I disaggree Stallion, UNT beat us last season, and that was poor on our part, not good on their part. I am not sure about them winning 3-4 head to head games with us over the last 6 years. Maybe 2 . . . but I could be wrong and I am sure you will tell me about it...

This isn't just a "myth" that North Texas fans believe. I've seen SMU fans hold it out as fact on gomeangreen.com as well. I can't attest to the validity of the belief but it sure wouldn't help you if we were in the same conference.

I can't disagree with what this guy says. Often I don't understand why the condescending tone to a program that is fighting for respect just as we are. This isn't the 80's anymore and like it or not, UNT is a peer, not an inferior program. Wake up to reality.

Nobody at SMU holds that crap out as fact. I've seen NTSU posters accuse me of holding it out as fact when I joke about it here. Apparently those from NTSU don't get the joke.

In any event, if you and your NTSU cronies don't think that's myth, then your statement that "North Texas fans and administrators realized long, long ago that our future will not be dictated by what SMU does" as a load of crap. You still care that in your perception NTSU is a sunbelt school because of something SMU did.
