Justin Willis
The SMU Athletic Department will continue its "Milk & Cookies With The Mustangs" summer series on Tuesday, July 3, at 6:30pm at the University Park City Library on the corner of Hillcrest and Daniel as star quarterback Justin Willis will read stories to the children in attendance.
This wonderful event allows the opportunity for young children to come in their pajamas, listen to an SMU student-athlete read stories and enjoy milk and cookies.
Willis is coming off a freshman season that saw him re-write the SMU passing record books and lead SMU to bowl eligibility.
The "Milk & Cookies" series will conclude on August 7. The event is free and open to the public.

Star quarterback? I know people are going to jump on me for this, but since when is he a star? I think he's pretty freakin' great, but star? That may be a stretch. After this season, though, it might fit.

Is this appropriate? Can you imagine what he'd have done if his stalker was wearing pajamas?

I am pretty sure it wasn't at the 2007 spring football game. I think he gets "star" status because he is an SMU quarterback returning for a 2nd (consecutive) season.

I think star fits here actually. If you were to name the star of the SMU Mustang Football team who would it be? It would unquestionably have to be Willis. He also had one of the best seasons ever for a QB in the history of our school (statisticly speaking) and is one of the best QB's in CUSA. Everything is also hightened by the fact that he plays the most high profile position on the field. Relative to his team and conference Justin Willis is a star, in my opinion.

And what is wrong with MILFs?

The problem here is your assumption that every team has a star. I disagree, although clearly every team has a best player.

It's absolutely amazing how some people can find something negative to write about absolutely anything. It's a good thing that Willis is going to do this. He and Emmanuel Sanders also are going to be signing autographs in the Park Cities July 4 Parade, and it's LONG overdue that something like this takes place. Coach Doherty has shown you just can't be too visible in the community. We should have athletes doing things like this at every opportunity. Kudos to Willis and Sanders for getting out there and meeting the public, shaking some hands and signing some autographs. Hopefully a lot more SMU athletes will have the chance to do the same kind of things.

Agreed. There are those who bury themselves in the part of being the contrarion just because they believe it to show what an independent thinker they are and that they will not be duped by anything that would dare give us good recognition.
You guys are suffering from a severe case of knuckleheaditis!!
Nice to see the boys doing that.

While it is different to compare era's, level of competition, style of offense, etc etc needed to directly compare QB seasons, Willis turned in one of the top 5 or so QB performances in the HISTORY of SMU football as a redshirt freshman. Say Willis never gets any better than he is right now, and has three more identical seasons. Does he go down as one of the all-time SMU greats at QB? You bet he does. To me, that makes him a star.
I also spoke in terms relative to our conference foes and in my opinion, Willis is a star in CUSA. (Feel free to insert joke about being a star at your neighborhood YMCA pickup game.)

I hope he doesn't get sued by some overprotective highland park mom with a lactose-intolerant kid for assaulting/poisoning their poor little boy.
Not to mention vegans, and all the sugar in the cookies.
