if we could get Dickerson, James and McIlhenny to speak to the players just before they hit the field against Tech?
(It's been a quarter of a century now since that '82 season.)

Was Dickerson the only one of those three players who was "hired" onto the team?

I think we've just witnessed a hijack attempt, folks. Take it somewhere else, Bozo.

His price to work for SMU has probably gone up since his first gig.

the last time Dickerson spoke to the team they went out and almost pulled-off the biggest upset in SMU Post DP history. UCLA at Los Angeles. What didn't we fall a couple of yards short with a series inside the 4 yard line. Dickerson has made appearances on behalf of SMU Football-i can count at least 5 off the Top of my head.

That was a fantastic game against UCLA. Incredible. I was going nuts listening on the radio.
I wasn't saying [deleted] hasn't done enough. I just think it would be great to see him again for Tech.

Seems like that happens a lot lately (UNT & Rice in 2006)

We shall never mention that UNT game again!
You just opened the door for Emmit to spew green vile on this board

I would like it if Dickerson stayed away from SMU forever. As a player listening to another player downgrade your efforts on national t.v. you just loose all respect for them. I say the same thing about James had he not comeback to speak to us on one occasion. He actually wants the best for us, I think he is just put in a tough position through his job. All in all McIlhenny is the one of the guys from that era that has stayed around and does everything he can for the program. I even saw Jerry Ball down at the Houston Mustang Club function. He is still huge. Go Stangs and Go Away Dickerson.

I was at that UCLA game at the Rose Bowl in 1994, and if I remember correctly what happened was Jacques Smith broke off something like an 80+ yard run close to the end of the 3rd quarter, but he got tackled from behind at about the 4 yard line. I think we were trailing by 4 at the time and we had a 1st and goal. We proceeded to turn that 1st and goal from the 4 into something like a 4th and goal from the 25 (a holding penalty, a sack, etc.). I can't remember if we went for it on 4th down or attempted a FG. Either way, I don't think we scored on that possession and UCLA tacked on a FG to give them a 7 point win.
"It'd be nice to see Jesse Henderson break one here."

I think we should try to get Mike Leach in there too.... I mean, he's supposed to be in the building anyhow. Might give a good pep talk, you know?

I'd rather have Cash Birdwell give them a prekick off speech than ED
