A bounty on a horned frog?

Postby RGV Pony » Fri Aug 03, 2007 11:30 am

Coming down the escalator at the Las Vegas airport last night, I again saw one of the first things one sees on the way to the tram: the giant horned frog sculpture.

Then I had an idea. If the Pony Up campaign takes a turn like Mustang Mania and we see the red horse + arrow bumper stickers everywhere, how about I put this out there: $xxx for the first pf.com'er to post a picture of a Pony Up sticker on the horned frog at the Las Vegas airport?

Cool? Vandalism? Intriguing?

Sounds like a potential freshman road trip...

Well, you could always plant rye grass on our field again.

That remains a classic prank.

You have turf again now, don't you? Nice try, Skippy.

Yes, we have turf. Field-turf, oh, no we don't have that. In 1992, the artificial turf, which had been in place since 1973, was replaced with natural grass.

Yep.

Never artificial again--in my opinion, that's the worst stuff in the world.

Why stop there? Surely there must be other places for the same schtick? I mean we could find someplace to Pony Up for each of our opponents this year: The big [deleted] Teepee at the Old City park for Arky State, the Lawnmower aisle at Home Depot for NTCC ect.

In fact, that would be a nice weekly post along the lines of the lookalike threads. I doubt we have the time and energy for it, but it would be funny to see people's different takes on the subject.

Rye grass is a winter grass, no? And we don't march until the middle of september anyways. Not that it'll ever happen again anyways :(
