Who's fans are these?

Postby DickerJames » Tue Sep 18, 2007 3:44 pm

I was over at SMUMustangs.com thinking about buying tickets to this Saturdays massacre so I clicked on the skillet link which took me to the frog site. Ended up clicking on Amon G. Carter which brought up this picture. Who in the world were the little froggies playing at home in this picture that filled that dump with a sea of red. I certainly know it wasn't us.

Probably Tech. I believe that is the only time TCU has had a sellout. (According to RaiderPower.com for whatever that is worth.)

Trust me, I aint talkin attendance smack, but I think it's hillarious for the official picture of your stadium to show your fans being outnumberd 4 to 1. They need to photoshop a little purple in there.

That was last year's Tech game. And no, we outnumbered Tech 2-1. Tech outnumbered SMU 4-1 in the two games I've seen at Ford. And you are right, SMU should not be talking attendance smack.

Hope you all come out to Ft. Worth this Saturday.

If so, a lot of your fans chose to wear red that day.

Were you there on Labor Day? Do you really think it was 20,000+ Tech fans vs. 5,000+ SMU fans? I think your math is off a bit.

Red is a "hot" color so it hits the eye and stands out more, especially at grandstand level, where it appears to overwhelm the purple. An aerial photo gives you a better perspective on the true composition of crowd. The only thing I did to this photo was boost the red a bit to make it contrast more with the purple, especially in the shaded areas on the right side of the stadium.

This is why we should always wear red to our games.
It's a crappy job but someone's gotta do it.

Boosting the red a bit more helps.

Excellent work with the old photoshop there and exactly what I was talking about. It was nice of you not to color over ALL of the Tech fans. I suggest you submit yours as a replacement for the real one.
