Guess the Attendance

Postby CalallenStang » Fri Sep 28, 2007 10:34 pm

What do you think tomorrow's attendance will be?

My take: Family Weekend + Game against UTEP (fairly sizable DFW alumni base) = attendance between 19000-21000

I remember when SMU drew more fans than the Cowboys. If PB can not deliver a bowl better than the New Orleans Bowl then SMU must or needs to move on. I keep referring to AZ. ST. UNIV. SMU has far more titles, far more NFL players, has far more trophies. This is ugly but when SMU came onto the field at ASU, 1986, the ASU crowd thew Monopoly $ on them. ASU has had it's basketball program looked at for points shaving. I guess it's no big deal for the NCAA. I don't have any idea about the attendance. I do know that if you win attendance goes up.

You forget that UTEP brings a crowd. Prediction UTEP fans 9,000, SMU fans 7,000.

The lack of people at the game was stunning. UTEP has travelled well in the past. The only thing sadder then the UTEP section was our student section.

And I have often been critical of our band (mainly their Kehler days..okay almost entirely) but I really liked their effort today. It's not like it has changed...they always work their collective asses off. But it just something about today, watching them go at it, that made me pretty proud to be associated with them.
