Terry Bowden Rumor

Postby Dwan » Sun Oct 21, 2007 1:49 pm

Heard it from a trusted source, he will be our next football coach. I know it is just a rumor from an source not named on a message board, but at this point this season, thought it was worth posting.

Last season, right before we played Rice, I was told by someone on the New Orleans Bowl Selection Committee that SMU was definitely going to the New Orleans Bowl. Did we go and I just don't realize it?

That said, I hope your "rumor" from a "trusted source" is true. :)

I heard it from a trusted source that Terrance Wilkerson is going to Marry Jamell Kennedy's girlfriend.

All those jersey changes are confusing.

Every time we are "looking" for a new coach you bozo's alway tend to think we can get a "big name" here. It reminds me of every July/August of how you guys think we will go to a bowl game or have a winning season. Pull your head out of your ace and realize nobody in their right mind would take a pay cut to coach this dead beat horse.

WE ARE WHO WE... SMU.

I keep hearing Orsini doesn't think he's a good coach.

Do you not remember we had to beat rice to go to the bowl? Maybe that person had confidence we could actually win and after seeing we could not score inside the 5 several times he figured we dont deserve to be in one. And we didnt deserve it

Yes, Terry has had a terrible coaching record over the past 9 years.
It's a crappy job but someone's gotta do it.

Actually that is not totally true. The rumor was we would go to the NO Bowl (Cute how that spells the bowl we actually went to), even at 6-6. The problem arose when there was one more team eligible than tie in bowls available and all the other teams in CUSA eligible had better records thus were by agreement chosen to play. Had NC State beaten those nasty Pirates that last game, they would have also been 6-6 and we would have bowled and they would have stayed home.

Regardless, I am not a proponent of 6-6 bowl teams. I do not think a bowl participant should ever have a losing record and a bowl loss gives that to a 6-6 team.

Emeraldcitypony, I was just passing along what I heard. I am a big fan of Terry Bowden, and have watched a bunch of stuff, including on his website. I think he fits the Orsini, Doherty mob perfectly!

Not sure who Orsini thinks is a good coach then. All I keep hearing is that they are more than just friends and that Orsini wants to make him his coach wife.

I have heard from several sources that we will be starting in the 1 to 1.5 million $ range to bring in our new coach.
