The long awaited meeting we where all waiting for was nothing more than Curtis Ganderson giving the players a motivational speech (stay away from drugs etc..), but Orisini did infrom the players that the reason a coach has not been hired yet was because the coach they want is still coaching right now.
Interesting.

I like both. The idea that Orsini has someone specific in mind makes me feel a lot better. C'mon Butch!!!

I think Tommy Bowden would be great, but Clemson is a Top 25 program. Why would he want to go down 100 places in the ranking with one stroke of the pen?

Butch Davis's season is done. Duke was the final game.

The rumors about Davis were unsubstantiated, unfortunately.

I know. It was just a happier thought than some of the other options. A girl can dream.

I'm just throwing these out there...actually none of them may mean anything to a good coach.
1. Money...if it's enough.
2. Challenge with great long term reward if you can resurrect SMU.
3. SMU fans would worship at your feet if you could take them to a meaningful bowl game as opposed to putting up with fans [deleted] because you only had 9 or 10 wins instead of 12.

Well I guess that would nix Terry Bowden, Fran, Chan Gailey, Turner Gill, Barnett.

Am I still the only one talking about Norm Chow? He is still coaching, we offered him before and he supposedly accepted for HIS price which we were not willing to pay. Not BCS anymore, but of course was. Not HC but very knowledgeable and respect as an offensive genius. He has been my prediction since the Kragthorpe thing fell through. Whatcha think?

You all are idiots (well I kind of already knew that after you guys bought my Terry Bowden is a done deal rumor). I wouldn't have told you all the truth on that lie, but some of you were crying pretty hard. Now you all are buying the following which I can tell you (being that I am a master lier) are BS rumors:
1. We are not going to be hiring someone who is still coaching right now.
2. No Butch Davis
3. No Willingham
4. and especially no Chan Gayley
The Coaching choice is between the following guys:
- Terry Bowden &
- Fran

I don't know. Norm Chow's career is still sort of on the rise. I don't know if he'd want to come to SMU and risk killing it. Who knows?
