The Dallas Young Alumni Association does it up right, they did the one at the Public House for the Tulane game two years ago. They even let old dudes like me attend.

I've got a party idea for Dallas young alums - drive four hours to the game.

Go if you can!

Postby DallasYoungAlumni » Thu Aug 07, 2008 6:58 pm

Absolutely agree...anyone who can actually go to the game in Houston should! Our goal is to provide an opportunity for alumni to get together and watch the game in Dallas/Plano if you can't make the trip to Houston. Either way, it's going to be an exciting season opener!

I wouldn't say that. I was aware of this event very shortly after, but not before, I arranged my little shindig at Christies. And if I didn't have people already committed to come to my little gathering, I would just cancel and attend this one. But I do so I'm not.

The people organizing the official smu event are outstanding individuals and I would encourage all that cannot make the rice game to head there.

And stallion, old people are often more fun than young people.well, sometimes.

And to clarify once again, I never intended to draw a large crowd under the smu banner. I just wanted to give people an option. It seems smu has given people an uptown game watching option. This is a good thing. And I have a small number of friends in the Dallas area, so hopefully I won't be too lonely that Friday night.

If the game wasn't on a Friday night I'd go but then again it's also Houston. Gross.

Regardless, I am 100% confident I will be at one of the following bars that night: Christies, Frankies or Milos. Can't f-ing wait.
