Yes. The same way I was worried about Sam Houston St two years ago. Hopefully we can turn it around like we did then, but I'm not very hopeful of that.
Right now 0-12 looks a lot more likely.

It won't be 0-12. I guarantee we'll beat UTEP

Guarantees are pretty much not advised at this point. We're gonna get better, but don't be predicting Ws.

Obviously I want to see how we perform on the field tomorrow but after watching tonight there are several strengths and weaknesses. First your greatest strength against us will be depth. That is a strength for every FBS program over an FCS program simply because of the number of scholarship athletes on both.
In Texas State you will face three running backs that are all faster and able to elude defenses better than you saw tonight in Rice. That will cause you some problems if you don't get your linebackers more involved in making tackles.
You will also face a record setting receiver. Not up to Dillard's level but if you leave him open like Dillard the results may be the same.
Our junior QB has a rifle arm but in the past has had accuracy problems, again something that could be good for you. He has been working on that a lot in the off season and looked a lot better in the spring game. We will see tomorrow if that work paid off.
Our defense is also unproven and I am very interested in seeing how they perform tomorrow. Speed wise they are probably close to Rice, corners may be slightly slower but you guys didn't throw the deep ball too much tonight so that may not be an issue. You should however face a similar defensive scheme next week.
Again I want to see how we do tomorrow, if some of our problems from last year, especially on the defensive side of the ball, are fixed then it should be a really good game next week.
Mostly what I saw out of Mitchell tonight was a lack of experience, obviously since this was his first game, but I saw a lot of promise. I think eventually the offensive problems will be fixed, the defense looks like it will take longer, but I don't think all of those problems will be fixed in a week.

Are D-I AA teams the only people who actually say FBS and FCS?

As much as many want a in conference win, I DO NOT want to lose to SWTxSt.

so if all these guys are as fast or faster than Rice's team, and your WR is capable of a performance equaling that of an All-American, I guess Angelo St is going to run roughshod over the D2 Lone Star Conference.
On another note, did Ralston Dews start or play?

SMU lost to UNT in 2006 and to Ark St. in 2007. We took our usual loss to Rice on the road (although it never feels right), and face a must win situation in 2008. TSU is catching SMU at the wrong time, but if they have a good passing game then the ponies could get hurt.
