Why doesn't JJ use Willis as a slot back who has the added dimension of being a throwing threat as well as a receiving threat?
I think that is an obvious use of a guy who has great wheels and a good arm.

I thought he was too slow to play reciever. I do like the secret plan to use him as a passer.

he (Randle el) is also occasionally called on to pass on trick plays, most notably in Super Bowl XL in which he threw a pass for a touchdown.

Fivemon, a better example would have probably been Kordell Stewart, aka Slash.

I like what looked like JWill in special situations, like short yardage. He can work on those plays, especially with his running ability, and BLM can focus on learning the fundamentals of the offense.

"We're trying to do everything we can do to win the game, and he gives us the best chance running some particular packages that we do," Jones said. "I'm going to put him in there until Bo gets to that point where he can do all of those things.
"I try to use the best players. It's some of the things that Justin does – in fact we're even going to look at him at receiver some. He's a pretty good athlete."

They will put Willis in at QB on 3rd and short on occasion just as they did the other night. He will run the option with Martin. As the season progresses, you will see Willis come in on 3rd and short and start the option, pull up, and pass down field hoping to find a defense stacked against the run and get a big play.

JW should have an expanded role this week (passing at times when he comes in) or TT will eat his lunch.

Willis is a great fit for 2 of JJ's option packages.

I haven't really followed smu football that much, seeing how I pay more attention to ut. But what makes no sense to me is that Justin Willis who holds some sort of record for passing touchdowns at smu is on the bench. Even if he doesn't have the arm that mitchell does, it's decent, and he does have a much better play making ability. With him in it seems that most defense's would have a more difficult time defending smu because of his running ability.
