UTEP walks over UCF

Postby BUS » Sat Sep 27, 2008 9:47 pm

Just saw that on the ticker on the bottom of ESPN.

Wow - we need to play much better to get another win.

Sure hope BLM is gaining confidence.

Sure hope we learn how to catch better and make tackles.

Go Mustangs

Oh, Mustang Militia shirts on sale - PM me.

Knuckleheads - please PM your address for two more shirts.!!! :D

Nothing's making sense.

Houston over ECU.
Alabama stomps Georgia. (outplayed by Tulane)
Navy looks awful in a couple of games then beats Wake.
UTEP over UCF (UCF went down to the wire with USF)

well, we're still a 1-win team. I'm having concerns about being able to meet the predicted 2-10.

I wouldn't be concerned. It's about the health of your team and how they are developing.

I think Smu is maturing as a team, with the off week. we will be dangerous in 2 weekends!

What we need are defensive stoppers-

I can't be at practice but watching these games on TV Is that really the best defense we can field?????

How about Dimekel shankle? throw in some atheletes for the love of .......

Old rant.
We need BIG MEN.
4 DTs this recruiting season.
I would hope for 2 JUCO and 2 HS. Oh, and 4 HS next year.

Third longest in NCAA history

In Division I-A football there is a tie for the longest field goal....67 yards
...between...
Russell Erxleben 10/1/77 in a game between Texas and Rice
Steve Little 10/15/77 in a game between Arkansas and Texas ..and...
Joe Williams 10/21/78 in a game between Witchita State and Southern Illinois....
(the seventies seem to have been a good decade for kickers..was it the bell-bottom pants??)
other FG records include:
Martin Gramatica for 65 yds..the longest without a tee
and 61 yards for the longest NCAA kick by a true Freshman.....

in the 1970s it wasn't that unsual to see 60+ FGs because each team could use their own slightly deflated ball. Also didn't missed FGs get put on the 20 back then.
