Sorry in advance for creating another NTSU thread. What does everyone think about the new NTSU stadium. Here is a link to the stadium video on Youtube.
Whether they can fund its construction or not, do you think it is comparable to Ford? I think the stadium they are trying to build is very nice and will really help such a struggling program. However, I think Ford is still much nicer.
I know we like to think that we are not on the same level as NTSU in every aspect but they do effect us. We do not play regularly (at least not for a couple of years) and we are not in the same conference. However, bottom line we both terrible (we have a win but it was scary and against a Div.II team), we both are in the DFW, and we recruit many of the same players. I want NTSU to succeed because they are on our future schedule and when we beat their [deleted] it will only help our rankings. Additionally, a rivalry with them will begin to mirror what we have with the frogies and no one can admit that is bad for the program.
If SMU, TCU, and NTSU all become competitive and begin to play another it will build a CFB market that is not centered on the Big 12 (and that would be amazing).

If they are expecting any significant state monies to help fund this they are in trouble.

Looks likes a stadium from Toy Story. And the little card routine in the crowd was cute, the Chinese would be proud.

I believe they are putting it up to a vote with the students. From what I recall, the students will be paying for the new stadium with an increase in fees and tuition.

Why are you calling it NTSU if you are a fan? That's all part of our agenda to blackball them

I will say this. That is a perfectly nice stadium plan, but the music for the video was so bad that it has tainted anything they build.

I hope they do build it and wish them the best of luck, if for no other reason, they are on our schedule quite a bit in the future and it would be nice to never see Fouts Field again in person.

I think they are going to increase the student fees to fund half of the cost and then get the rest from doners and corporate sponsers. I think they will get it built in a few years and it will do wonders for thier program. I think the stadium is very nice but I must agree that music is awful and made it hard for me to watch the video.
Why dont any of you think it will get built? I think many of us just say that because we are terrified they will actually become a good team before SMU and make recruiting and gaining support from the DFW that much harder for SMU. I do not think this will happen but I think many of us secretly worry about it. If my assumptions are true, lets stop trying to put eveybody else down and lets grow up people. There is no need to, SMU is a great school and everyone knows it. Finally, like I said a competitive NTSU team would be good for SMU down the road.
