Nice to know New Mexico State has had one bright spot in football.
They probably have a statue of James Ferebee the way we have one of Doak Walker.

The way I read this, we can say that Margus Hunt holds the single season record for blocked place kicks in a single season.

Margus will block more kicks this year. He should get one against UTEP. We are really going to enjoy 3 more years of this.

I tried to find the record for combined blocked kicks by a TEAM in a single season, but was unable to find that record. I am pretty sure we have at least 3 non-Hunt blocks this year, so I'm curious what's the best a team has done in a season (my guess is maybe Virginia Tech given the acclaim of Beamer Ball).

what is the breakdown of his blocked PATs vs. FGs? looks like the season record is 6 FGs, 5 for PATs and 8 for combined

When he gets his eighth to tie the NCAA single-season record (and I'm just going to assume he will), he also will tie Chad Patton's SMU record for blocks in a CAREER.

Just wanted to see how close he was getting.
By my count, Margus has blocked 13 total kicks - 7 FGs and 6 PATs. Getting pretty close to the records for career records of blocked FGs (8), blocked PATs (8) and combined total kicks blocked (19).
The guy is unstoppable. And the only thing that is fun about giving up points is getting to watch him swat the PATs away.

Would love to see him get a punt block! Is he usually in on punt return/block situations?
