Rice Band

Postby docabel » Sun Nov 08, 2009 1:40 pm

Couldn't really see hear what they were up to from the east stands, but did hear the resounding boo's from the home crowd at the end of their theatrics.

What kind of "high brow humor" were they trying to pull off this year?

Something about Texas seceding from the USA and leaving Dallas behind where it belongs.

I would have laughed, had it been funny, but the fact is that it was pretty devoid of humor.

Now I am really confused. I could not hear it and it seemed very lame to me but it had something to do with Iran, Iraq, and Afghanistan. I never picked up on Texas seceding, but again I could not understand what was being said.

Word has it that several in folks in the SMU community want the M Band to be like Rice..."a scatter band." because it will "make the band bigger." Well we see what quality of pile of stuff the MOB was yesterday.

Yeah, apparently the USA got Iran pregnant with a nuclear weapon, then went to Afghanistan, left Afghanistan for Iraq which abused USA then left, so they USA tried to get back with Afghanistan but Afghanistan wouldn't take the USA back. So the USA was depressed and had domestic issues which is why Texas was seceding.

I hope people are finally catching on to what I have been saying for years. They're not funny. They have no style or character. Their schtick of mocking people is useless. In short, they suck. I walked to the concourse at halftime, missed their show on purpose and know I didn't miss anything.

Rice sucks and so does it's stupid band.

I am afraid Rice, its band and its football won't be with us in five years...not the university, just its athletic programs.

They used to be clever - but now are reduced to only nerd humor - and nerd humor is not funny.

It is the musical version of promotion exceeding capability. I think is called the Peter, Paul, and Mary principal.

Talk about two extremes in the last two games.

Young men with great character that all of us can be proud of (the Navy team), and then one game later the Rice band. What losers.

Normally I pay very little attention to their crap, but for some reason I stuck around for their performance. My only guess is that they were mocking SMU since we're the going to be the home of the W Library and Iran and Afghanistan are some of his favorite countries? And then took the extra shot at Dallas by saying Texas was seceding and leaving it behind? Regardless, first and last time I pay any attention to their shtick. Just stupid...
