Lakewood's 1st and 10A few weeks ago, I found a 1979 Mustang Mania poster in my parent's storeroom while cleaning up. I was going to sell it since I didn't have any wall space for it and put up a post in this forum. I got a few responses, one of which was the owner of 1st and 10, who told me that I could loan out the poster to them and they would display it in return for a free meal there.
So, I took them up on that offer. I went there with my sons today and they've now got the poster displayed. One of the guys working there played on the team with Ford, Tolbert and company, so he seemed pretty happy to see the poster. #2 son and I both had the Point Burger and #1 son had wings. The food was great! We will definitely be going back again. If you haven't been since they reopened last year, you should check them out. NE corner of Abrams & Mockingbird.
Re: Lakewood's 1st and 10I don't think a week goes by that I'm not up there for at least a few beers.
Great place. Great food. Hope you make it up there on a more regular basis! Derail the Frogs!
Re: Lakewood's 1st and 10On my recent trip to 1st & 10 (Monday Morning 11:50 am 8/9/10) I ordered one flat Coors L draft, a very good Point Burger served with greasy droopy cottage fries. And made a stop in a clean restroom..
Re: Lakewood's 1st and 10
I would love to buy that poster as that is my graduation year from SMU! Can copies be made of it?
Re: Lakewood's 1st and 10The poster is 2' X 3' -- pretty big to try to make a copy. I've got it on loan to the 1st and 10 crew indefinitely, and I pretty much decided I didn't want to sell it anyway.
However, thinking back to '79, Russ Potts and crew absolutely covered Dallas in Mustang Mania posters, bumper stickers, and other promotional stuff. It seems like a '79 poster wouldn't be too hard to find. Surely one turns up on e-Bay every now and then...
Re: Lakewood's 1st and 10
Kinko's (now FedEx Office) can do oversized copies and prints. I haven't checked in a while, but I also used to get extra-large (poster sized) prints from a jpg or gif file. A possibility might be either copying the poster there, or having them scan the poster into a jpg file, so it might be easier to share with others, if you choose. I'm guessing it's beyond any copyright concerns? anyway, just a thought.
Re: Lakewood's 1st and 10Cutter is correct and they can laminate it too.

Re: Lakewood's 1st and 10
Yeah thats what Im talking about as it can be done in color and then framed too. Some of the other 1979 Grads may like one as well.

Some of the 1995 grads, too. Derail the Frogs!

any chance that poster could come down from the wall for a day or two to get it scanned for Pony Nation? (see ponyscott and Junior above)
