Re: TCU "Major Announcement"Guessing it is some kind of contract extenstion.
Re: TCU "Major Announcement"Stadium information would be my guess.
When will I start feeling stimulated??
Re: TCU "Major Announcement"I think they are going to back out of the game aganst SMU out of fear for too many injuries to their team and an early loss that will ruin their season. But that is just a guess.
All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: TCU "Major Announcement"announcing the Armed Forces Bowl is moving to Ford
I will not make age an issue in this campaign. I'm not going to exploit for political purposes my opponent's youth and inexperience.
Re: TCU "Major Announcement"Based on rumors leaking out over the last 3 weeks or so from TCU, I'm 99% sure they have gotten funding for Stadium and will begin after the season.

Re: TCU "Major Announcement"
Is this a 'phases' thing for them? As in funding to finish what they already started? The thing that fell down (was it the endzone part)...that was separate and distinct from what they've funded now?
Re: TCU "Major Announcement"I think there are two more phases. Endzone completed-next is the West Side and then East side or vice versa. They will have limited seating during the year between the two remaining phases. I think the next phase is the destruction of the hideous upper deck.

Re: TCU "Major Announcement"tcu pals tell me they have raised thier stadium money. They will announce the total raised and the proposed consruction schedule.
GO MUSTANGS!
Re: TCU "Major Announcement"Good for the Frogs! That means they raised the ante for our response now. You got to hand it to "competition"!

Re: TCU "Major Announcement"The announcement is supposed to be that all money has been raised for the stadium, show final renderings of the stadium and the schedule for construction. As far as I know, construction is to begin in mid November after our final home game. That will mean that the Armed Forces Bowl is being moved for 2 years. We've heard all along that it will be at Ford. I expect that to be announced as well today.

Re: TCU "Major Announcement"I hate to see the upper deck go. A great ole stadium that just needs updating. I wonder how they are deciding on capacity since they are just now starting to attract 40,000 plus crowds after a decade of excellence. Maybe they will play all the big-draw teams at Cowboys Stadium. Great to see them work so hard and smart to get to this point after so many frustrating years. Congratulations Frogs.

Re: TCU "Major Announcement"
Unless there were major recent changes to the plan, the upper deck is being replaced not removed. The capacity is going to remain around 42-44K with ability to expand up to 47K-50K for bigger games (including SRO) and the ability to permanently expand up to 60-65K in the future. The previous picture was a view from the west side. Here's an alternate view from the east side: ![]()
