NEW BOWL INFONow that our site visit is complete, we have more information to make your SMU 2010 Armed Forces Bowl experience a great one!
2010 BELL HELICOPTER ARMED FORCES BOWL FAQ for Mustang Club Donors, Season Ticket Holders, and Lettermen’s Association Wow! What a great time on the Hilltop. For the second consecutive year and only the second time since 1984, SMU is playing in a bowl game. Thanks to a unique twist, the Mustangs will face Army at Gerald J. Ford Stadium in the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl on Thursday, December 30th, at 11 a.m. (CT). For those of you who have already placed a ticket order for the game, we say a resounding, “THANK YOU!†For those who have not done so and have further questions, we have attempted to provide some clarity below. The unique nature of this game is that while it is being played at Ford Stadium, it is not a true “home game†for SMU, so there are some policies and procedures that will be a bit different from your normal Ford Stadium experience. Bottom line, there will be plenty of football, fellowship and fun on our campus this December 30th, including the Boulevard, SMU’s unique and dynamic game day experience for ALL Mustang fans. Tickets How much are tickets and where can I purchase them? Tickets are $40 per person and are available through the SMU ticket office at (214) SMU-GAME (768-4263) or online at http://www.smumustangs.com. Please note, IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO PURCHASE YOUR TICKETS THROUGH SMU. CLICK HERE TO PURCHASE TICKETS ONLINE Where is the SMU section? Fans purchasing tickets through the SMU Ticket Office will be located in one of the SMU designated sections. Seat locations, when released by the Armed Forces Bowl, will be allocated based on the Priority Point System. Please check back as we get more information we will update this page. How many tickets can I purchase? There is no limit to the number of tickets you can order. HOWEVER, your PRIORITY consideration for seat locations is equal to the number of season tickets you currently hold. All other tickets requested above your season ticket quantity will be fulfilled after all priority requests are allocated. This may result in all seats being located together or in some seats being located in a different section. How will actual ticket locations for SMU fans be allocated? The SMU Ticket Office began taking orders for bowl tickets on Monday, Dec. 6. Tickets will be allocated based on SMU's Priority Point System, and the deadline for ordering with priority seating will be Friday, December 10th, at 5 p.m. After this deadline, tickets will be allocated and orders will be fulfilled. Any remaining tickets would then be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets ordered through the SMU Ticket Office will be located in Mustang fan sections, which are designated by the bowl. For more information or to place an order, call 214-SMU-GAME (768-4263). For more information about the priority point system, please click here: http://smumustangs.cstv.com/tickets/fb- ... ating.html All orders received prior to 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 10th will be included in the first round of allocations. How may I pick-up tickets I purchase? When you place your ticket order through the SMU Ticket Office, you will have two options: 1. PICK UP To pick up your tickets at the SMU Athletic Ticket Office beginning late next week (you would receive an email when ready if you choose this option). 2. MAIL Beginning December 15, tickets will be mailed to the order address on file. PARKING Where can I park? On game day, the Armed Forces Bowl controls most of the parking in and around campus, much like SMU Athletics would on a regular home game at Ford Stadium. However, there are a limited number of parking passes available in Binkley Garage for the game. These passes are $15 and will be assigned within the context of the Priority Points System. Your parking request DOES NOT guarantee you a pass, but it does place you in the review for priority rank order. To order a parking pass, call the Athletic Ticket Office prior to Friday, December 10th, at (214) 768-4263. HOSPITALITY Is the Boulevard open like a regular home game? YES! Regular Boulevard spot holders for SMU home games will have the first right of refusal on their Boulevard spot. Cost of Boulevard spots for the game is $200.00 per location. Orders can be placed either through the Mustang Club office or the ticket sales office. Deadline for reserving your Boulevard space is Friday, December 10th at 5.00 p.m. After this deadline, all spaces on the Boulevard will be open for general sale. Is there an Official SMU Pre-Game Tailgate? YES! Very similar to our away game tailgate parties, everyone is welcome to join the Mustang Club for “Brunch on the Boulevardâ€. Full details will be posted in the coming days on the Bowl Central page at http://www.smumustangs.com. I am coming in from out of town, where do I stay? For those coming to Dallas from out of town for the game, the Doubletree Hotel Dallas Campbell Center, the Preferred Hotel of SMU Athletics, is providing a special rate for SMU fans of $79 a night. This is a substantial savings over the normal room rate and a highly competitive rate for the Dallas area. How to make a reservation: The one click link for all SMU fans and Mustang Club Members is listed below. If you prefer to call in your reservation, your call in code would be (1-800-245-8919) and the rate is known as S M U Athletics (please be sure to include the spaces in S M U otherwise the reservation agent will not be able to locate the rate). http://doubletree.hilton.com/en/dt/rese ... 0002638057 OTHER INFORMATION What time do gates open to Ford Stadium? Ford Stadium gates will open at 9 a.m. on game day. Will the game be televised? The game will be televised nationally on ESPN. Where do I purchase official Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl gear? http://www.armedforcesbowl.com/merchandise/ I cannot make the game, but want to watch with SMU fans. Are there watch parties? Information on national watch parties will be made available on “Bowl Central†at http://www.smumustangs.com I cannot make the game, but would like to purchase tickets and donate them to one of SMU’s community outreach programs. Is this possible? Absolutely! In addition to a wonderful sense of pride and community fulfillment, there is also a possible tax advantage to donating bowl tickets, while also helping us sell out of our bowl allotment. PONY UP! Re: NEW BOWL INFOThis is very helpful info. Glad this is out and look forward to a great day of SMU football - our first bowl game on the mainland in this century!
Pony Up!
Re: NEW BOWL INFODo you think they don't know where the SMU section that is bowl designated is?
Buying tickets blind to where the location is not cool. I have never seen this done for any event ever. Save general admission . It should be clear even with points that the seating is located in x section to x section better seating to those with more points. Sheeple
Re: NEW BOWL INFOBEAT ARMY!!! They going to make signs like for TCU and Marshall?
Re: NEW BOWL INFO
I wish I knew who "they" is so I could say "THANKS" for making this season's signs - I have cut the dates off the signs I have to use in the future - (hints from Heloise?)
Re: NEW BOWL INFOI bought mine yesterday @ the ticket office. SMU fans will be sitting in the current student section.
Re: NEW BOWL INFOWhat I really want to know is the party schedule in Ft Worth leading up to the game.
Nobody in football should be called a genius. A genius is a guy like Norman Einstein.

Re: NEW BOWL INFO
Re: NEW BOWL INFOso who are the annointed ones sitting between the 30s?
Re: NEW BOWL INFO
![]() While I am most certainly not the definitive word I could use simple mathematics. Given that there are about 5000 Mustang Club members, and only about half of those are active. Each section holds about 600 people. I would say if you rank in the top 500 on your Mustang club card you will be in the 30-20 yard line section. If you rank in 1000 most likely in 20-10 section next , and so on. If you’re not in the mustang club and you buy tickets from SMU you are in the north end zone. Many bought there season seats months ago when they were offered so you can subtract those from the count and do you own numbers. We all were given the opportunity to buy our season ticket seats so you really can’t [deleted] about it. You can still buy great seats on the west side from other ticket outlets. BTW I called and asked for a parking pass told him i was ranked 2046 and they said with supply and demand was not going to happen. So if your beyond that dont even call ![]()
Re: NEW BOWL INFOLooks like we'll be staring into the sun by the fourth quarter - that is if we're lucky enough to get a sunny day!
Re: NEW BOWL INFOI just want to see more red and blue than black and gray in that stadium. I'll be doing my part.
Don't worry. Be Happy. Or not.
