Packers practiceDoes anyone know the details of Green Bay Packers practices? I have a neighbor with a 9 year old son that would like to view a practice. My assumption is that the practices are probably closed to the public. However if we go down near the practice fields is there anything else to witness?
Re: Packers practiceI was told that this is impossible. Even Orsini's office (facing the field) and others with field views are to be vacated and/or curtained. The FBI is checking on every SMU field employee (I guess gambling rather than terrorism?). The security is obviously very high and practices definitely closed.
Re: Packers practiceThere is no way they would let anyone watch their practices. I heard Josh McDaniel was snooping around with a handheld camera...Spygate 2?

Re: Packers practice
that's crazy
Re: Packers practiceThat's a bummer but this is what I expected. Thanks
Re: Packers practiceI remember going over to the practice field outside Ownby in the early 60s to watch the Packers practice in preparation for their game with Dallas. Guess I was in 3rd or 4th grade. Got autographs of Bart Starr, Willie Wood, and about 10 others. Have no idea whatever happened to those autographs. Two or three of them were on the player's trading cards.
Re: Packers practiceIf you want to see the players, your best chance is at a top restaurant or club--assuming you can get in.
One of our favorite watering holes is setting up tents and tables in their parking lot, planning on three reservation periods per evening (Friday, Santurday and Sunday), serving until 2:00AM, charging $2,000 per table, with a complimentary bottle of Dom, Vodka, and Tequila. Everying else is ala carte. They are sold out. 250,000 visitors arriving in Dallas and the vast majority will never even see the stadium, much less attend. Now that is crazy!

Hotel Zaza's restaurant/bar, Firefly, is where I saw LBJ during All Star weekend. "smupony94: Harry, you have been promoted to purveyor of official status capabilities."
Re: Packers practiceDid you also see Lincoln and Washington? LBJ died in 1973. What was in your drink?
Re: Packers practice
Haha, not Pres LBJ, but Decision-Maker LBJ (Lebron James) "smupony94: Harry, you have been promoted to purveyor of official status capabilities."
Re: Packers practiceThey are staying at the Omni Hotels, but you will probably not be able to get close to a player without some credentials.
Re: Packers practiceDamn I would love to see the players and get a chance at autographs for some diehard Packers fan friends of mine.
Re: Packers practice
Perhaps if you hangout outside the practice field and no one runs you off, you might get a chance for an autograph as they move from the practice field back into Ford and the locker room. That's a really big maybe. Good luck. SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
Re: Packers practiceWear a black t-shirt w jeans and tell the guy at the gate you're with the band.
Re: Packers practicePerusing the web and came across this nifty board, good read by the way. You guys won't get near them. Hear you have a beautiful campus down there. Go Pack!
