This morning I had the chance to drive by Amon Carter to see how the construction is going. Took a couple of shots. HB Pony Dad helped me code them up. I think it was mentioned elsewhere but it looks like TCU has raised more than $105 necessary for the original concept. I've heard through other TCU alums they are at $125-$130 and were looking to see if they wanted to raise the balance to attack the east side. That may be why the Armed Forces Bowl is returning to Ford. I took this picture at the NE Corner of the stadium. That's the west stands. To the right is what the north end zone frame. This shot is at the North end zone. The structure appears to be their new scoreboard. This shot is just random construction shot proving that they actually are working.

both North Texas and TCU have webcams for those that don't care to drive by TCU to take pictures of their opponents football stadiums

sadly (or humorously) they will wrap the entire thing in baby crap yellow brick to make it seem as if they only spent 20M.

Well, I was in the neighborhood and thought I'd drop by. But I thought you of all people would be interested since you like to BREAK their recruiting news to us. This just helps you fit in.

Why the hell would you post pictures of construction at Froggy High? Can you sing the praises of their chemistry department, too? Or tell us what pretty flowers they have on their campus?
Do you work for TCU now?
I'd say advertising for TCU like this means you need to stop attacking Stallion, pronto.

Could you be a little more kneejerk on this reaction? You're right. No one has ever posted anything regarding anything about another school on this site. What does the second half of the title of the thread mean to you? You always need to keep an eye on what they're doing. But maybe you prefer the life of an ostrich.

The renderings are actually pretty impressive and some Texas contractor is happy. Too bad the Wasteland that is California can't do anything for the construction industry. Hopefully with continued winning seasons the Ponies can follow the Frog example and fill Ford enough that expansion will become a necessity.

I thought the Frogs rarely, if ever, filled the old dump. Granted, they won games, hence the uptick in attendance, but it always seemed like this was a matter of a school wanting a shiny new toy (read: recruiting asset) than an actual need to expand.
Personally, I agree with HorsePower. It would be a shame if a recruit were to be on this board and see those pictures and suddenly start considering Frog High.

Should be easy enough to kill the thread. Lots of experts on that around here.

I'm happy for you all. I think it's going to be a really nice venue. We can enjoy it more in there and stay longer when we beat you.... BTW, I do think the design job with your IPF could have been better. I don't like the metal roof and the walls. The botulism brick should have gone all the way up to stay consistent with your theme. You can help me understand the thinking behind it. I've been to Baylor's and I like theirs better. But at least you have one.
