ACC: It's Official - Pitt and Syracuse are inACC has issued an official statement welcoming Pitt and 'Cuse.
"The ACC is a strong, united conference that is only going to get better with the addition of the University of Pittsburgh and Syracuse University," Duke president Richard Broadhead, chair of the ACC Council of Presidents, said in a prepared statement. "Both schools are committed to competing at the highest level of academics and athletics. We welcome them as full partners in the ACC." I think more things go down today. TCU's Del Conte has to be worried.
Re: ACC: It's Official - Pitt and Syracuse are inI think WV becomes the 14th SEC team to join Aggy. Big East is crumbling.
Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: ACC: It's Official - Pitt and Syracuse are inany word on when they will begin play in the ACC?

Re: ACC: It's Official - Pitt and Syracuse are inTCu is a good football team - not so much a good school
Re: ACC: It's Official - Pitt and Syracuse are in
I read something yesterday that in order to leave the BE you need to give 27 months notice. I am sure that can be negotiated, but that is the current contractual agreement. Some rise by sin, and some by virtue fall
ACC: It's Official - Pitt and Syracuse are inTcu might end up regretting leaving mwc if mwc makes a play for some of big 12 leftovers...
ACC: It's Official - Pitt and Syracuse are inThat was fast
ACC: It's Official - Pitt and Syracuse are inWe shall see
Re: ACC: It's Official - Pitt and Syracuse are inIt looks like the entry window for the ACC is closing fast. I wonder how this is going to affect the whorens. It is possible they could be left with few options.
GO PONIES!!!
Re: ACC: It's Official - Pitt and Syracuse are inThis may be the ACC being aggressive in order to convince other schools thinking about talking to the SEC to stay. If so, great move. If one does leave, UConn or Rutgers is now the replacement and you have a strong northern presence.
I am wondering if Mizzou and Baylor had any idea Syracuse and Pitt were talking to the ACC. If not, that could completely queer those negotiations. It may force BU and MU to make the Big XII work in some way. That, and there is still the question of the 14th school in the SEC - West Virginia is now on the phone to Mike Slive saying "What is this going to take?" without sounding like he is panicking. I am pretty sure I remember the presidents of Louisville and Cincy saying they weren't interested in joining the Big XII - that idea is now off the table. I still say Brittowsky and CUSA needs to be ready to pounce. The remaining BE could get raided by another two conferences - SEC and Big XII - and have about 4 schools left. If that happens, BB needs to be ready to offer the remaining schools and go after the open BCS spot. But that will take vision and balls, and I'm not sure that Brittowsky has either. My head hurts.
Re: ACC: It's Official - Pitt and Syracuse are inCUSA could end up being a pretty good conference if they picked up a few of ex-b12 schools (excluding baylor). Also, are there any teams in MWC that might be worth adding as well? Any way we could dump some of the weaker sisters in the conference or would that create too much of a problem?
GO PONIES!!!
Re: ACC: It's Official - Pitt and Syracuse are inSMU should do everything it can to get in a conference with Baylor-I hope our administrators have more maturity than some butt-hurt SMU fans on here. Unless you want to play even more meaningless games against meaningless teams before a bunch of empty seats. SMU desperately need more games against traditional rivals our fans give a damn about

ACC: It's Official - Pitt and Syracuse are inStallion is hell bent on keeping our rivalries with Rice and Tulane
ACC: It's Official - Pitt and Syracuse are inBaylor is huge step up from anything we have
Re: ACC: It's Official - Pitt and Syracuse are inI could care less about Rice or Tulane unless they make the commitment to excell at College Football. I don't see that at either school.
