This is Why We Are Playing NTSUif 1/3rd of their projection of 15,000 come to the game that would be something like $300,000, 2/3 $600,000 and 3/3 $900,000 (based on $60 spent on tickets etc). Well we shall see as I have my doubts-hey if we are going to play them for 7 more years might as well spice it up a little. They used to bring huge crowds when Hayden Fry was there and games were played at Texas Stadium. 5,000+ would be great and add the atmosphere

Re: This is Why We Are Playing NTSUThey are the perfect opponent and should be on our schedule forever.
1) Local with reasonably big crowds 2) If Morris does his job, we should win every year 3) they should never "beat us up" again Do unto others before they do unto you!!
Re: This is Why We Are Playing NTSUapparently they have sold between 4,000-5,000 tickets through their own ticket office

Re: This is Why We Are Playing NTSUIt will be a fun atmosphere. Two little teams trying to prove themselves,
Re: This is Why We Are Playing NTSUThey brought a nice crowd the last time they played at Ford. Seems like it was about 8K-10K last time.
That being said, I don't think there were more than 8K-10K UNT fans at Apogee last year. Stadium seats 30K and was more than half empty.
Re: This is Why We Are Playing NTSUThe more of them that want to watch their team get slaughtered the better. More $ for SMU. Would prefer if we travel like that to our away games one day and sell out our season tix.
Re: This is Why We Are Playing NTSU
Even the last time we played them at Ford in 2007 our stadium was more than 1/3 empty as attendance was reported to be 20,517 which was actually our second most attended game after 27,000 saw us play Texas Tech to open the season. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Peruna is my mascot!
Re: This is Why We Are Playing NTSUUNT brings as many fans to Ford as Houston & UTEP...always more than Rice or SFA. I've always been of the opinion we should be playing them as one of our non-conference games
Re: This is Why We Are Playing NTSUthey should bring their 1:00 jazz band to play at halftime. best thing about the school.
Re: This is Why We Are Playing NTSU
True! Long live Inez Perez!
Re: This is Why We Are Playing NTSU
Game is at 6:00. I am not going to sit and listen to their band for 5 hours regardless how good they are. All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: This is Why We Are Playing NTSUper the game last year would have estimated 20-25000 UNT fans/students and maybe 2-4000 SMU fans unless disguised. UNT travels well if it is with a former SWC team but doesn't show up well at home or away for other teams.
Re: This is Why We Are Playing NTSUit is worth a million to not play them. They are not our speed as a school and we should be doing more with lower end of P-5 if they will play us.
Re: This is Why We Are Playing NTSU
All of this rings hollow after the thrashing they gave SMU last year.
Re: This is Why We Are Playing NTSUGostangs does have a point but it's well-hidden. We do need to be playing low-end P5 teams when possible. I've always said that our schedule should have 1 FCS team (SFA/SHSU/Northwestern State), 1 non-P5 FBS team that is a good test and will bring a crowd (UNT/UTEP/Texas State fit this bill here), 1 low-end P5 (this can be TCU when they are bad or someone like Kansas), and 1 high-end P5 (TCU when they are good or someone like A&M)
