Postby PonyPride » Sat Sep 05, 2015 3:25 pm

• Matt Davis now has three of the top four rushing days by a quarterback in SMU history.
1. Matt Davis — at Connecticut — 2014: 191
2. Matt Davis — at Tulsa — 2014: 181
3. Ramon Flanigan — at Navy — 1993: 148

• Matt Davis has tied Ramon Flanigan for the most 100-yard rushing games by an SMU quarterback (each has 3)

• Darius Joseph now has 166 receptions in his career, pushing him past Korey Beard for ninth place on the all-time career receptions list in SMU history. Next on the list are Emanuel Tolbert (171), Aldrick Robinson (181), Mick Rossley (186) and Jeremy Johnson (196).

• WR/KOR Deion Sanders now has 1,151 kickoff return yards in his career, the sixth-highest total in SMU history.

Not bad numbers for Davis in only six career starts.

With absolutely no disrespect towards Deion, his kickoff yards I would think are primarily due to the number of returns as opposed to yards per return

Sanders is fifth in school history with 56 returns in his career.

Ahead of him on that list are Korey Beard (76), Arthur Whittington (81), Jonas Rutledge (88) and Jessie Henderson (122).

Thanks for sharing. Pretty amazing. Special talent indeed.

Hope he has more passing yards though. Love the kid, but he's got to throw/read better/get rid of the ball. He ran way too much for me, I get worried about him.

Better than I would have guessed. Thanks.

1974 Rice 145
1974 Virgina Tech 108
1973 at Rice 107
1974 at Arkansas 104
1974 at TCU 103

The problem is in the SMU media guide - it does not list the 1974 Rice game in the Top QB Rushing Performances list (which should probably be fixed!)

What Flanigan did against Navy in 93 was his coming out party.

It was a shame he couldn't pass very well.

its never a good sign when Your Kickoff Returner leads nation in number of returns. Bad Sign
