UH Official: Briles Not on Interview Listactually very few Houston fans appear to want anything to do with him
maybe AD June Jones will hire him at St Louie High School when his 72 year old coach retires http://www.cbssports.com/college-footba ... ce=dlvr.it "With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: UH Official: Briles Not on Interview ListHouston has too many good alternatives to mess with that. No need to take any risks of that nature on this hire.
Re: UH Official: Briles Not on Interview ListHouston's President overruled Tillman Fertitta-good for her
Brett McMurphy ✔ @McMurphyESPN Houston board chair Tillman Fertitta wanted to interview Art Briles but overruled by UH Prez/AD. UH says it will not interview Briles 1:00 PM - 3 Dec 2016 "With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris

Re: UH Official: Briles Not on Interview ListFinally some sanity there
Re: UH Official: Briles Not on Interview ListSo how long before the UH prez is let go?
All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: UH Official: Briles Not on Interview ListThere is just no reason for any University Pres to take that chance. I think he is done.
Re: UH Official: Briles Not on Interview ListI'd say he needs to go to the NFL as a coordinator but the NFL has issues with rape and sexual assault itself. If he can somehow find his way as an OC onto a team, any team, he may be able to wait out the scandal itself, but I don't know if that's possible right now.
That, and he's no spring chicken - isn't he like in his 60's? This may be it for him.
Re: UH Official: Briles Not on Interview ListBriles should so have a show cause from the NCAA.
Shake It Off Moody
Re: UH Official: Briles Not on Interview ListSpeaking of Fertitta, someone really should tell him to keep his mouth shut:
http://houston.cbslocal.com/2016/11/29/tilman-fertitta-no-coach-will-be-bought-out-from-university-of-houston-again/ Guess he didn't realize that Coog High is still in a G5 conference, and even if their king of the midgets right now, they're still midgets. Nobody looking to build a career is going to get themselves perpetually stuck in 7-11 limbo. "I don't think anyone around the country has any idea how good we are going to be." - Coach Justin Stepp
GO MUSTANGS!!!!
Re: UH Official: Briles Not on Interview List“This whole college football, which the agents started a couple of years ago,” Fertitta continued, “(the school) can sign you to a five-year contract and if we fire you, we have to pay you. But if you decide to quit, (the school) only gets a little bit buyout. That isn’t happening again at the University of Houston.”
No, numbnuts, it started when ego-maniacle boosters like yourself started paying coaches millions of dollars a year. You've got nobody to blame but yourself for turning it into a bidding war on all levels.
Re: UH Official: Briles Not on Interview Listexactly. And its going to be even more interested when the networks pull back their TV dollars which seems likely as viewership has dropped. Then we will see who has the staying power and who doesn't.
Re: UH Official: Briles Not on Interview ListSo what happens if UH poaches another schools coach? That's OK?
Re: UH Official: Briles Not on Interview List
that's different....the other coach "wanted" to come to UH stable-boy for the four horsemen of the apocalypse
Re: UH Official: Briles Not on Interview List
UH let both Herman and Sumlin coach their bowl games before coming to UH. Briles, Sumlin, and Herman didn't coach the UH bowl game when they left. Maybe we're done being the only one who allows coaches to stay
